Finally getting around to sharing photos and details of my bridal shower now that all the wedding planning madness is over! My shower was on April 13, a bubbly brunch on a DC rooftop. My mom did an amazing job planning and it was the sweetest afternoon with family and friends.
The venue was a rooftop party at my apartment complex The Apollo in Northeast Washington DC. It has gorgeous greenery throughout the space and glass lanterns hanging from the ceiling, a dream bridal shower space!
We all started off the day the best way that you can start off the day, with a mimosa bar of course! My mom made the cutest sign for the mimosa bar with a mini balloon arch over it! A similar arch linked here.
The mimosa bar had different champagnes and proseccos and a few different flavored juices! We also had some fresh berries to add a little something extra.
For munchies we had catering done by Wegman’s! (their charcuterie board with smoked salmon is to die for! and their sushi!) We also had some cute desserts from The Sweetheart’s Patisserie (a cute bakery in Annapolis, MD)
We were able to keep the decor rather simple since the venue was so gorgeous to begin with, but my mom did bring a bunch of vases/wine bottles that she had spray painted gold with fresh florals. (similar linked at the bottom of the post!) She also brought some adorable photo-booth props that we had a blast taking photos with (click here to shop them!)
After the champagne was flowing and everyone had stuffed their face with the snackies, we played some fun shower games!! The first game we did just while socializing: everyone had a tiny pink or gold clothespin pinned on them and if they said the words “Mitchell” (my fiancé, now husband) or “Wedding” they had to give their pin to whoever caught them! It was super cute and my 9 year old sister Elizabeth went around everyone and ended up with 10 clothespins haha.
Then we all went around and told our first kiss stories and my mom gave a little goodie bag filled with bath bombs and candies to the one we voted was the funniest/cutest! Click below to hear me tell Mitch and I’s first kiss story! (also my very first kiss!!)
My dress is an older Free People dress that I found on Poshmark and loved it! I linked some similar ones below. I paired it with nude Marc Fisher platforms and this amazing flower crown that my mom and her friend made from scratch! I couldn’t believe that they made it themselves and that it fit my head to perfectly and stayed together so well! I was so obsessed with it!
After games I opened some shower cards and gifts and then we all went to the outdoor part of the rooftop to take photos. It was such a dreamy and perfect day and I feel so blessed that all my family was there to share it with me.
