My Bridal Accessories

Once I found my wedding dress, one of the top wedding priorities for me was finding perfect accessories that complimented the perfect dress! (this also took up a big chunk of my wedding planning time so hopefully this can help guide any brides-to-be in the right direction!)

My wedding dress is the Gael Gown in color Champagne by Hayley Paige. I never thought I would choose a dress that wasn’t technically “white” or “ivory” but I could not be more happy with my decision! I love how soft the color looked in photos especially with the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses and our florals.

Hair:

I was never sold on the idea of wearing a veil and after choosing my dress I was pretty sure I didn’t want to wear one. The low back detail of my dress was one of my favorite parts about it and I just didn’t want that to get lost with a veil covering it. I also knew I wanted to wear my hair down in some way and loved the idea of headpiece.

The bridal boutique I purchased my dress from is this adorable salon in Hockenssin, Delaware called Jennifer’s Bridal (you can read more about my experience with them in my post all about choosing my dress, here). Most of the accessories they carry were by the company Haute Bride which I fell in love with instantly. I knew I wanted a headpiece that wasn’t a pin or a comb but more of a halo that went all the way around my head. This was A LOT harder to find than I thought it would be but Haute Bride delivered my dream headpiece and I was able to customize the gemstone colors. I had the center stone on the back of the headpiece changed to a more dusty blush champagne color to match the color of my dress. The name of this product is the “rhinestone feather wrap” in silver. My hair stylist was able to secure the headpiece in with bobby-pins so it stayed in place all day and night! (I’m going to do a future post all about how/where I had my hair and makeup done).

Jewelry:

Other than the headpiece, I had really only planned on wearing earrings because I thought that my dress was already so detailed on the front that I wouldn’t need a necklace. However, on the day of the Wedding Mitch gave me a simple dainty silver diamond necklace that looked really pretty with my dress and was so special to be able to wear that day.

My earrings were also by Haute Bride and were customized with the same blush, champagne colored stone as my headpiece! I love them and resist wearing them on a daily basis. They were also so light and comfortable I didn’t even notice them! I decided not to wear any bracelets or rings (other than my wedding rings) because I wanted to keep it simple and bracelets tend to bother me honestly lol.

Shoes:

I have known since I started looking at wedding photos on Pinterest (which lets be honest was like high school) that I wanted to wear Badgley Mischka shoes on my wedding day. I was obsessed with the classic pump shoe that the jeweled heel, but all the reviews I had read said they were extremely uncomfortable and I knew it would be a long night of dancing and I wanted my shoes to stay on. I found a lot of other styles with a slightly shorter heel but I still didn’t want to commit until I tried them on in store. Finding Badgley Mischka shoes in store to try on was NOT EASY. Nordstrom only had a few random pairs on the sale rack, I ended up finding them at Macy’s! I tried on my pair and fell in love! they were so simple, the perfect color (I have the champagne), and the stones tied in well with my headpiece. I got them on sale for less than $100! Also, I promise when I say, they did not hurt my feet at all! I had them on the entire ceremony and reception, was dancing all night and did not get a single blister. I didn’t even break them in. I highly recommend these!

Garter:

Now for the fun little extra bridal accessories we get to shop for! My garter was such a fun purchase that I loved shopping around for. I wanted something with jewels that was elastic so I wasn’t worried about it getting untied! I also wanted a mini garter for the garter toss! I found my garter set from Glam Garters and they even printed “Mrs. Best” on the inside of the larger garter with our wedding date in light blue for my something blue! It was so cute. I will say it was not the most comfortable but it did not bother me too much. They also custom fit to your measurements, I will recommend to order far in advance because it did take awhile to be made and come in.

I could not be happier with how the whole look came together and it was worth all of the time and effort I put into finding each accessory.
